The Baccarat crystal factory is a world-renowned glassmaking and crystal manufacturing company, located in the town of Baccarat, at the eastern edge of the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle, in Lorraine. The sulfides give the glass a very distinctive colored hue, the breathtaking light effects. In 2014, Baccarat crystal celebrated its 250th anniversary! For more than two and a half centuries, the know-how of this city of Lorraine has never wavered. Over the years, the talent of the master glassmakers who thus exercise the pride of the city of Baccarat. But this creative and artistic activity that the crystal works also represents a tourist and financial windfall for the latter. Recently (June 2017), the Baccarat crystal factory was sold to a group of Chinese billionaires (FFC). A new turning point in the history of this institution of French know-how.
